It definitely gets the job done, and some.
The Nano 22 Hydration Pack is an REI exclusive, and larger compared to its predecessors: the Nano 18 and 20. A fantastic 3L hydration pack for anyone looking to have their thirst quenched during a hike.
Look, this is an amazing pack for storing snacks, accessories, and water for those long hikes. With an internal storage space separated from the bladder, this pack proved to be very useful on our hikes at the Grand Canyon. A great thing I noticed was that the straps were perforated, allowing air to flow on the back and arms, which is perfect for outdoor hiking. In addition to being lightweight, the pack itself felt pretty comfortable on my back. However, a long hike under the heat of the sun can lead to a sweaty back, as this pack does not give the best airflow possible.
Now my only concern was with the hose. The tube can be connected magnetically to the strap, which goes across your torso. It was relatively fine for me, but for folks who have a wider torso, it may prove to be uncomfortable having the hose slinged across your chest.
The pack also comes with 2 additional zippered pockets, where I put smaller objects like my keys and wallet into. The left side of the pack features a mesh for a water bottle, which proves to be useful for carrying water for pets, or an extra water just in case.
Overall, the pack proves to be an amazing way to store a large amount of water and ample space without being overbearing in its design. This makes it solid for a hiker’s adventure, or even everyday use.
